When it rains...

Don't you just love Winter (she types sarcastically)? My trip to the horses this morning was eventful as I battled wind, rain, hail and sleet. Did I mention wind? Lots of wind... I eliminated a hack pretty quickly! I could've kicked myself as I sat in the car thinking about a gorgeous, warm, water repellent gilet I had sat at home, safe and sound in my wardrobe, perfect for this weather.

Sporting Hares Windermere Gilet in Deep Blue

Anyone who knows me will know I'm a mahooosive fan of Sporting Hares and I have been since day dot! Not only do they take into account the practicalities of being an active person they also cover style, quality and their customer service is second to none! In fact, my collection of Sporting is growing rapidly and I'm dying to see what they've got up their sleeve next!

My firm favourite is their Windermere Gilet. Perfect for a Winter Warmer,  ideal to stave off the chilly wind in Autumn and a style essential in Spring/Summer. What am I trying to say? It's a MUST-HAVE item for your wardrobe- FACT!

The Windermere is crafted using the finest, genuine suede leather. Not only does this make it soft to the touch it also means it's hard to the elements. Each gilet is lined with the same Taffeta silk lining they also have in their Beauchamp Blazers giving it a luxurious look and making it unbelievably comfortable to wear. Who doesn't like the feel of silk?

Of course, being a premium garment, Sporting have also made the collar from faux fur and graced it with their Trade Mark velvet outer collar. There is no way you will catch a chill in this gilet as it's filled with synthetic down and has a Durable Water Repellent membrane meaning it repels water, perfect for this Great British weather we are experiencing! The tailored fit is really flattering and is great for riding in as it has been designed with sport  in mind ensuring there is no restriction around the shoulders.

Sporting Hares Countrywear

The gilet comes in two colours, a Deep Blue and a Honey Tan. Personally I chose the deep blue, purely just because I have more breeches in my wardrobe to team it with! The Honey Tan is a gorgeous colour and has a very 'country-esque' feel about it, it looks great when teamed with a pair of skinny jeans and your favourite country boots!

All in all, the Windermere doesn't disappoint and so far it's my favourite piece from Sporting. Actually, it's my favourite gilet full stop!
